TCL Corporation makes a net profit of 15.5 million euro in the first three quarters, excluding the Chinese market, which is growing continuously

On 29 October, TCL Corporation published its report on its performance during the third quarter 2009. Company turnover has reached the billion-euro mark, with increases of 26.1% and 34.2% respectively compared with its results last year and in the last quarter. From January to September, TCL Corporation also achieved turnover of 3 billion euro, i.e. an increase of 5.3% compared with the same period in 2008 with a net profit of 15.5 million euro and turnover up by 36% compared with the same period.

TCL Corporation declares that, during the third quarter 2009, it enjoyed an improvement in efficiency in all of its operations as well as an improvement in productivity in its main business and an improvement in the economic environment. Company performance has continued to show solid growth on both the domestic and international markets.

In its own business, TCL Multimedia generated significant profits in the third quarter 2009: 7.8 million euro. It generated 20.6 million euro in profits between January and September, a significant gain in view of the figures for 2008. During the first three quarters, sales of the company's LCD screens maintained strong growth with a total of 5.5 million units, i.e. an increase of 105.2% compared with last year. During the third quarter, 2.6 million LCD screens were sold, a figure up by 121% compared with last year. Thanks to strong consumption, the “Home Appliances to the Countryside” and “Trade in” equipment renewal programmes and consumer friendly policies, TCL Corporation has seen its sales grow in the Chinese market. Sales in the third quarter increased by 323.4% compared with 2008. Thus, 1.4 million units were sold, i.e. a rise of 67.8% compared with last year. The international market too has experienced strong growth. From January to September, 2.5 million LCD screens were sold (up by 33.3%). During the third quarter, sales were up by 42.3% at 1.2 million units.
